Hello, Its been a year since I edited the page created with Osteria, I want to change the photo in the hero section in https://www.restaurantearuma.es/carta/, but I dont have a clear view inside wp panel. Everything has changed. I think it is because the theme is outdated, but I dont really know… How do I update the theme?

After building a website with this theme, I now can see why pixelgrade charge a premium for their themes, and in one way I am actually happy about that as not as many people will have sites looking the same. But the reason they charge a premium is because they make QUALITY themes. Everyone uses that word her eon themeforest, and sometimes what looks good is just a nightmare of bloatware or stuff just not tested and working correctly for different browsers or devices. Sure it doesnt have all the bells and whistles of other big name themes to that level of customisability, but it does just about everything I needed it to, and it has UNIQUE stuff that most themes do not or not worry about fundamental stuff. Very happy, and support has been great too! Great team of designers and UX experts I would say.

This is outrageous. Here are the consequences of you working on my site. A part from not solving any issues. You have created some others. No issues have been fixed. Osteria logo is back on site and my main menu is all duplicated. And it is not in my menu admin panel. I want my menu and my logo back. The menu layout is all changed. 1 / maps issues : My maps api has been deleted. It was there as you can see on this screenshot. But you obvioulsy don’t check them. You have reset the maps coordinates to yours. After following you instruction for the 4th time. Maps are not working !! You are sending me a video on how to create a google api account when you know I already have one !! I have just lost 1 hour to undo what you’ve done. And I am reporting to Envato. 2/ Your Contact form doesn’t work. It relates to form 3547 and it doesn’t exist in my backend in WP forms tab. 3/ even when changing font weight, the settings resets on its own after reloading the page. There is no way to save the settgin. This is the worst support I have ever experienced in 9 years in Envato. It is totally unacceptable.

Hey, I’m happy to hear you like our theme, thank you. Sorry for the delayed response, My colleague Vlad already talked about this in a previous comment, which I’m sure will help you. This is a pretty never-ending discussion. Recently Google decided to change the rules of how it scores a web page, putting emphasis on whether the images are delivered to their actual display size, or larger. The problem with this approach is that it forces everybody to use a kind of service for responsive images that will deliver the exact size of the image requested (either external or server side). When talking about responsive websites we are forced to deliver image sizes that can work on a variety of devices, hence on some they will be too big (down sizing). Another thing that Google cares about is not having render blocking JS in the head area, but due to how WordPress is meant to work we don’t have this freedom to do from the theme level. Sure on a specific website you can use plugins like W3 Total Cache and concatenate the scripts and put them in the footer or even make them async but this is also outside the theme scope, being an optimization that should be done on a per site basis depending on what plugins you have and how those cope with moving the JS to the footer area. Another thing dear to Google is the CSS delivery, where it wishes that we would split the CSS into an inline section that would render the above the fold region, and the rest of the css be loaded as a file lower in the HTML. For a theme that is meant to be customizable, this is next to impossible as this should be made mostly on a page by page basis (the above the fold region can vary quite a lot for a blog archive to a page with a slider and so on). This is again a per-site optimization. So as you can see most of the requirements that are need to achieve a high PageSpeed score are actually not in the scope of a theme but are in the realm of individual website and server optimizations via caching plugins and such. We have optimized our demo but up to a point, where the customizations exceed the capabilities of the average user (like installing mod_pagespeed on our server – that would have made Google extremely happy). We believe this is a more sincere approach than bragging with a 100 score that is next to impossible to achieve by someone who is not an experienced developer and sys admin. This doesn’t mean that we are not actively doing our part on theme side to improve things. We are, but I meant to clarify the fact that the most of the optimizations (especially those that allow a high score) are outside the theme realm. Also GTMetrix is not related to Google Page Speed where we’ve got a better score too http://bit.ly/1y5k6dk. I hope my comprehensive answer will help you. Best, Alin

Pre-Purchase question: I really enjoy this theme and I really enjoy Rosa 1 and Rosa 2 (on your website). I like certain elements of each theme. For example, I like the simplicity of Osteria but I like the way the menu is designed and divided in sections on the Rosa 1 theme. And then I like the Gutenberg editability on Rosa 2. Is the menu style recreatable on Osteria/Rosa 2?

I have doubts about how to use the page editor. Is there a possibility to access a demo to see how the backend works? is it compatible with WpBakery? $ 120 is not cheap and I would like to see if it is easy to use before I buy the theme.

My client bought this theme and I am very happy with this choice. Very well done and nice touch of how the food menu items are structured, it will be very easy to maintain it. Their support is awesome. : )

As an issue arose installing the required Pixelgrade Care plugin, their customer service addressed the problem immediately and fixed the issue live on the server. Also they will add the fix to the codebase in their next update within days (as of 22/09/2017). Very content with the support and all the help pixelgrade provided.
