Worked exactly how I wanted it too. There's a bit of a learning curve understanding the Visual Composer, but after just a day I know my way around and can do what I need. Customer support is very responsive too.

Pre-sales question: Hi, liking the theme. However, when I click on what looks like a timestamp link in the “show notes” examples, they are not links at all. Is it possible to have the show notes link to specific sections in the mp3, giving the listener the ability to jump to sections in the podcast?

Had a few hiccups trying to find and use some features. The way things are labeled in the customizer isn't completely accurate so I had trouble finding certain elements of customization. But they were still able to be customized.Also, I had assumed a podcast theme would come with an easy way to share the podcast with outside distributors (ie iTunes). I had to contact them about that and sort of jerry-rig that connection.But the customer service was wonderful and the theme was eventually sorted and now suits most of my needs. (I needed a feedburner account to make a properly tagged and customizable connection to iTunes.) Would recommend on customer service alone.

Overall, the theme is nice but it's not flexible (what you see is what you get; your site will have look & feel exactly the same as the demo).If you want a theme like the demo, this is for you.But if you need to tweak it and make it a bit more different, you either have to know coding or just get some other themes in the market which is much more flexible (and if you want a podcast player, you should check smart podcast player out).

Incredibly frustrating setup. The documentation is poor and the setup is non-intuitive. This is far from my first WP experience so I expected a far easier time to go from installing the theme to get my site up and looking like the demo, but customized with my own tastes. The default setup is to use a section called "Episodes" that creates a url path of ".com/episodes/episode-title".Also didn't realize I was going to need to purchase vcomposer to fully utilize this theme, and that vcomposer would not work on posts, but only on pages & "episodes".It may also be worth noting that the purple overlay on the site's welcome mat image is the image itself, not some part of the theme that allows you to set the transparency & color over any image as felt indicated by its use on every image in the homepage slider. However, perhaps it was noted plainly somewhere that escaped my notice.

Excellently fast customer support - and a surprising amount of customization on a deep level especially considering the use of plugins to constitute a fair chunk of the site's functionality. Usually one expects plugins to pretty much mean you're out of luck when it comes to changing things like custom post types or dynamic content generated via JS or PHP. ProgressionStudios did a great job on this however and are very knowledgeable and helpful on their support forums.

Great theme for podcasts. Works seamlessly with Powerpress and has a really beautiful Episodes main page and simple Slider for recent episodes.

The responsiveness with support is extremely acceptable. I can always expect a response to my inquiry the morning after I post it. They showed a tremendous amount of patience with me, while I hammer out my issues in building. I'm a novice so I made a few mistakes they help with.

Soundbyte is very beautiful theme with tons of customization options. I tried several other themes for podcasts, but this stands out as the best. With you are a podcaster, Soundbyte is the best way to go.In the other hand, the con side is that is very limited about how you upload your mp3 files (they ask you to do that through media library wich is definitely not good). Working with the support they added a code field to input the directory of the mp3 file. Works? Sure, but is still not the best solution.

I originally gave this theme 3 stars for reasons I still have. However, this theme just earned a fourth star due to how it looks on mobile. Regardless of my issues with the themes customization features, the mobile layout and responsive design is very good. I had not realized how good it was until I looked at my finished site on my mobile phone, and then my tablet. Both versions surprised me and made me reconsider my first review. This theme IS worthwhile if your customer base is primarily mobile users... and podcasters do fit that description! I still want more customization controls, but I can wait for that in a future version.
