Great theme - shows beautifully on mobile, which is especially important for podcasts. I recommend this theme highly if you're considering hosting a podcast. If you're looking to launch a podcast and have total control of your feed and website, minus excessive cost, Castpod is the way to go. This theme is designed for you to act as the host and publisher of your show. For example - If you import your past episodes from another publisher, that is a one-time process. The theme will not pull from you publisher automatically and or every time you publish. Everything you need to publish a flexible website and show, submit to iTunes, Google Play Music, and most directories is provided for you. However, if you're wanting to submit your show to Spotify, you'll need to have an account with Libsyn, Podomatic, Podbean, etc. For now, Spotify prefers podcast that are published from the "big boys."Also, with the few questions that I needed answered, Liviu (Castpod author) was super helpful. Depending on your website and podcast goals and a little patience, even a minimalist (no coding experience) can turn this theme into a nice home for your show. Closing... If you plan to use your host as a repository, be sure that your hosting plan allows for you to do so without penalty.

Hi Liviu, I have pre sale question. Does the player import new episode to the hosting where the theme is instaled? I don’t want to download it to the website host. What I’m looking for is to keep the mp3 file on the podcast hosting (Spreaker), and be able to play it on the website via player build in the theme.

Hi, thank you for your interest – indeed you can, the theme has a useful Import RSS feature so you can quickly import your episodes from an external source (all major podcast platforms are supported, Libsyn included). Hope this helps.

First, I’d like to thank you for creating a dedicated podcast theme. It has a wonderful look to it, which I wanted to love. I’m not going to be able to use the theme, though, until more customization options are available. These are a few suggestions I’d really like to see in future updates: A Fullwidth Option : The blocked layout is nice, but it’s wasting a lot of visual space. I hoped it might be an option I could turn off, and was sad to see it was not. Option to hide post meta info (Author, Date, etc) from individual blog posts. The forced sidebar with the blocked layout really makes longer blog entries incredibly lengthy. Without a sidebar option on the blog, there is no way to have widgets, either – limiting advertising that might be required to keep the podcast alive. In a fullwidth layout, the option for two sidebars would be nice. The footer widget area is extremely clunky. Lots of CSS was necessary to keep the widgets from stacking awkwardly. The coding here was very disappointing. The background image would have been nice to change the background of the page, rather than the container. For the premium price of this theme, the lack of options offered was extremely disappointing. I’ve definitely bought more for far less. I hope you add more customization to your theme, as it has great potential.

We produce a video webseries and supply an audio podcast. Is there a recommended method for embedding the YouTube version of our show in the description of each page?

It's a very nice theme for podcasts, the new features are all very cool. But the greatest thing is the outstanding fast and helpful support! If you want to boost your podcast, try this theme.

When more customization options become available, I will be glad to improve this rating. Until then, I don't believe it to be a good value given the price.The theme is great if you don't want to change or alter anything from the demo, but if you wish to add any personality of your own, the time required for customizations makes it hardly worth purchasing in the first place.

This is the best theme ever and I'm a theme addict, so I know what I'm talking about. The support is amazing, the best ever. He really answers quickly and the best part he is REALLY VERY interested in podcasters insights. Also, the theme has a square ratio for featured images, that's very useful because we podcasters work -well, at least me- mainly with a square as the cover images for our episodes. Those images appear completely and not distorted on mobile, an issue with most other themes. This means you don't have to make lots of images, like one for the theme, one for Instagram, one Facebook. etc. Will totally be looking forward to what this guy is going to be making in the future I repeat: I've never come across a designer that's so interested in making his product work for you. Really. Your money will be well invested here, and you will be more motivated to podcast, because the theme will reflect your work. I'm sounding like too much because I'm happy with my webpage, and that's a feeling you guys.

Hello, I’m having some challenge with my theme. Any time I upload a new episode I add the episode transcript to the page just as I would do if I was publishing a blog post. But I realize that when it updates, the post in all previous episodes disappears except the summary. And I have to manually go back to previous posts and add the episode transcripts again. This is becoming annoying. How do I avoid this happening again? I publish the transcript on the episode page instead of uploading it as a file because I want to take advantage of the SEO benefit that can come from text on page.
